This edition - which I found at Vajra Books in Inglewood (one of my most favorite LA bookstores, now closed) -  is signed by several famous stars of the era, including Gary Cooper, Maurice Chevalier, and Carol Lumbard.

 

 I've written elsewhere in this archive about "Hollywood" as a place both physical and imagined, but one thing that makes LA's community cookbooks unique is the ways in which a grandmother's meatballs can share a page with cookie recipe from a famous film star, and both are given equal reverence.
