From the Women's Work Society of the First Congregational Church
Los Angeles, 1907
The First Congregational Church of Los Angeles was founded in 1867 and is the city’s oldest, continually operating Protestant congregation. The Church moved to its current building, near MacArthur Park, in 1932, and the building houses the world’s second largest church organ (pictured). Also pictured is a cake-replica of the building, presented in 1967 in honor of the Church’s centennial.
The Woman’s Work Society, who compiled this cookbook, grew into the Church’s present day Women’s Association, whose motto is “So long as we love, we serve”.
