The Working Girl's Cookbook
From the South Bay Legal Secretaries Association
Torrence, 1960s
The California Federation of Legal Secretaries was formed in 1934, with representatives from Long Beach, Los Angeles, Pasadena, and San Diego. The group’s goal was to educate secretaries on legal procedure and preparation of procedure notebooks.
By the 1940s it had 12 member chapters throughout California and eventually incorporated as the National Association of Legal Secretaries (NALS by the end of that decade - with member associations across the country, also representing legal assistants and paralegals
The NALS still exists today, though the South Bay Association dissolved in 2007.
I have cooked the “Grasshopper” cocktail recipes from this book.
